Michael Bay to produce pandemic thriller Songbird
What’s better than living in a pandemic? Why, watching movies about pandemics, of course! At least, that’s what Michael Bay is hoping. According to Deadline, the Transformers director is set to team up with former Paramount production chief Adam Goodman to produce the low-budget pandemic thriller Songbird — and the film is expected to go behind the cameras within five weeks.

Apparently, while details are a bit sketchy, the filmmakers are planning to work around the current film regulations whilst adhering to social distancing rules, and forbidding any scenes where actors engage face to face. The filmmakers revealed their plans to the guilds, who gave them the green light. The trade notes the actors cast in the film will undergo remote training, which is said to mirror the style of Paranormal Activity and Cloverfield.
Plot details place the story two years in the future, where the pandemic has not subsided, and worse, continues to mutate. The characters would deal with lockdowns, government conspiracies and paranoia.
